Aledo trio honored by TGCA
Three junior athletes from Aledo High School were honored by the Texas Girls Coaches Association this past week at the TGCA Summer Clinic in Arlington July 14-17.
Molly Garrison was honored as an all-star in both track and cross country. In track, she claimed a bronze medal at the UIL State Track and Field Meet, finishing third in the 1600. She also placed sixth in the 3200.
In addition, Garrison placed sixth in the state in cross country last fall, helping the Ladycats to a third-place team finish.
Mykel Murry was also honored in cross country. She finished 15th in the state.
Kyleigh Pawlak was recognized as an all-star in softball and played in the all-star game for the 5A-6A Red Team. Pawlak helped the Ladycats reach the Class 5A Division I state semifinals.
GOLF
NTPGA results
Several local athletes had solid performances recently in North Texas PGA Junior Tour competition.
On July 7 at Grapevine Country Club in the Prep Tour, Aledo’s Christian Ziegler shot 3-over-par 39 over nine holes to finish second in the Boys 9-10 age group. Also at that tournament, Willow Park’s Shelby Ross posted a 44 for second among Girls 13-14.
On the Medalist Tour in a tournament at Prairie Lakes Golf Course in Grand Prairie, Kennedy Bailey of Aledo shot 108 over 18 holes to place 12 among Girls 15-18.
On the All-American Tour, Brock’s Sophia Esqueda shot 173 (89-84) over two days to place 12th in the Girls 15-18 in a tournament at Indian Creek Golf Course in Carrollton.

Aledo Athletics, Inc. fall registration underway
Registration is underway for fall sports in Aledo Athletics, Inc.
USSSA and Pony Leagues start the 2026 season in 2025. If your player’s birthday is before May 1, 2026 or Dec. 31, 2025, they must register and play in the age group they will be aged into. For example, if they turn seven on Feb. 14, 2026, they must register for 8U this fall season, even though they are currently six.
Players will not be allowed to play down.

Lady Eagles win Big Country Prep awards
Several members of the Brock Lady Eagles were named to the All-Big Country Prep Softball Team. They are:
The Lady Eagles finished 29-2-2 and advanced to the third round of the Class 4A Division II playoffs.
