The Lady Coyotes dropped their contest 63-55, while the men’s team lost a defensive struggle 59-50.
Starting strong in the first quarter, the Lady Coyotes held an early 16-14 lead. However, McLennan surged in the second to take a 31-26 advantage into halftime. Despite a resilient effort in the second half, WC could not reclaim the lead. The loss moves the Lady Coyotes to an 8-5 overall record and 0-2 in conference play.
Neso Anisiobi led the charge for the Lady Coyotes, recording a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Maiya Wesley hit four 3-pointers, while Albane Beyaert contributed 10 points and seven rebounds.
In the men’s game, the Coyotes struggled to find their offensive rhythm early, trailing 24-18 at the half. WC fought back in the second half, scoring 32 points, but couldn’t overcome the deficit, ultimately falling by nine. The Coyotes are now 8-10 overall and 0-2 in conference.
Andre Bennett led the Coyote offense with 14 points and six rebounds. Kyan Landveld added 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds, and Josiah Coleman chipped in with six points and four assists.
