Weatherford College has named Kailee May as its new assistant director of athletics. The role was previously held by longtime WC baseball head coach Jeff Lightfoot, who moved into the role of full-time AD following his final season, leading the Coyotes to another regional tournament.

“A winning culture is important, and coach May is a proven winner,” Lightfoot said. “Coach May has proven herself to be a fierce competitor and a tireless worker, and we expect her to bring those attributes to her additional duties.”

In their first three seasons, May’s Coyotes won three North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference volleyball championships and amassed an overall 86-22 record, including 39-3 in conference play. She has coached WC to a Region V championship in 2023 and two National Junior College Athletic Association Tournament berths, finishing eighth in the nation in 2023 and ninth in 2024.

May became Weatherford College’s first volleyball coach in 2022 and has won three consecutive NTJCAC Coach of the Year awards.
