Second Star Theatre Co. is taking Weatherford’s Peach Week to a whole new level with a week-long run of the musical James and the Giant Peach July 7-10 and
Saturday, July 12, during the Parker County Peach Festival.
The production will feature local performers of all ages.
“Our mission is to support the next generation of artists while enriching the cultural life of Weatherford,” said Elizabeth Baker, Second Star artistic director. “We’re thrilled to bring this imaginative show to the stage during such a vibrant time in our city.”
In addition to entertaining audiences, Baker noted Second Star aims to be a vital part of Weatherford’s economic and artistic growth by utilizing local venues, collaborating with small businesses and engaging the broader community through the arts.
James and the Giant Peach, a musical for the whole family to enjoy based on the children’s book by Roald Dahl, will run throughout Peach Week with multiple performances: Monday through Thursday nights, July 7-10 at 7:30 p.m. each evening, and a triple feature on Saturday, July 12 during the Peach Festival at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
The production will take place at The Peach, a venue located on North Main Street in downtown Weatherford.
