Allene was born in Monticello, Arkansas, on August 13, 1944, to Vernelia Ann and Joe Allen Hoover. She is the last survivor from this family. Her brothers, Harvey and Larry Hoover, and her sister, Barbara Wade, passed away before her.
She graduated from Diamond Hill Jarvis school and then from Beautician School in Fort Worth. Allene was self-employed as a beautician for 44 years and loved all her faithful customers. Her hobbies included playing games, coloring, and Chicken Foot with her gal pals and Ms. Kathy Whatley. She did miss some of her former residences in Fort Worth, as well as lake houses on Lake Worth and Lake Weatherford. And finally in later years also at Brookdale on Sikes Lake in Wichita Falls, just prior to her move to Bowie.
Her loving husband Ernest L. Cearley passed away on July 14, 2021. She is survived by three sons and multiple grandchildren: Monty Peterson with his two sons Mason and MJ; Lyndon Cearley with his daughter Shannon and her husband Michael; and Wayne Cearley with wife Janet and daughters Shelly and Amanda and husband Mike. She is also survived by her cat, Katie, as well as many cousins’ nieces and nephews with one niece special to her, Cathy Wade Conner.
Cathy was a great friend and care giver to her over the last few years, along with Cathy’s husband Rick, her brother-in-law, to provide her and Katie Cat with love and care.
Allene will have a service at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1 at the First Baptist Church in Bowie TX with a visitation thereafter. Pastor Ethan Sandusky will officiate, with her three sons serving as honorary pallbearers.
