Coyotes finish strong in Fayetteville
The Weatherford College women's cross country team continued its strong season with a standout performance at the 38th annual Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival, competing in the meet's faster section against some of the nation's top two-year college programs at the University of Arkansas cross country course in Fayetteville.
Women's cross country coach James Majenge said WC was one of only a few two-year colleges invited to compete in the elite division of the event. The Coyotes finished just 21 points behind No. 5-ranked El Paso while outperforming every other top 10 community college that qualified for the faster section.
Up next for the Coyotes is the DBU Old Glory Gallup on Oct. 17 at AP Ranch in Fort Worth.

Coyotes set national record
The Weatherford College Coyotes extended their winning streak in the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference to 50 straight recently with a three-set sweep of Ranger at the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center.
The Coyotes have not lost a conference match since October 7, 2023 at North Central Texas College. While the National Junior College Athletic Association does not maintain records for conference winning streaks, WC's current run is the longest in NTJCAC history.
Thibaut wins national and conference POW
For only the second time in program history, a Weatherford College volleyball player has earned national player of the week honors, presented to sophomore Beline Thibaut.
In back-to-back conference sweeps against Cisco and McLennan, she recorded 25 kills on 54 attacks, along with three assists and 16 digs. She recorded double-digit kills in both matches, averaging 4.16 kills per set.
