Ladycats continue district domination

Remain perfect in league play

The Aledo Ladycats volleyball team concluded its dominant first half of District 5-5A play with another convincing victory Friday, Oct. 4.

In their latest district contest following a bye on Oct. 1, the Ladycats posted another sweep over the Chisholm Trail Lady Rangers. Aledo claimed the victory by a final score of 25-15, 25-14 and 25-17.

The Ladycats (24-7, 5-0) have not lost a set through their first five district matches.

Aledo also recorded wins on the sub-varsity level. The ninth-grade B team won in three sets (24-26, 25-15 and 25-15) while the junior varsity squad registered a sweep (25-10 and 25-15).

In the varsity match, star junior Alyssa Todd recorded a team-high 18 kills to go with 11 digs and three blocks. Meanwhile, senior middles Haley Lowe (11) and Kinley Elms (10) tallied double-digit kill totals while Lowe added a pair of blocks. Setters Ava Reding and Sophie Frank combined for 39 assists and one ace apiece with the latter tallying 10 digs. Logyn Denbow totaled a team-high 18 digs while senior libero Kenrie Pruitt had 13 digs. Ella Meador finished with seven digs while Ella Isbell and Morgan Estevez combined for three blocks.
