Kayce Brown is bringing lots of experience to her new role as Aledo High School’s head cheer coach.
Brown, who has been a teacher at Annetta Elementary in Aledo ISD for the last five years, is a former collegiate cheerleader, experienced high school private coach and choreographer, and former National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) staff member.
“Cheerleading has always been a passion of mine, and being given the opportunity to coach in the district I love is truly a dream come true,” Brown said. “I am excited to pour into these students, help them grow as athletes and be leaders in our incredible Aledo community. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity.”
Brown has been a team lead, math curriculum writer and member of the Teacher Leadership Cohort while in Aledo ISD. Prior to that, she worked four years in Allen ISD as an elementary teacher.
Brown’s cheerleading experience is extensive, starting with three years as a Texas State University cheerleader, including captain her last year. She was on the Texas State world champion team in 2015 and 2016. Brown also worked at NCA for five years and did choreography and private coaching for Hays High School, Midway High School, and Allen High School. She also has experience judging cheerleading tryouts at various high schools in Texas.
“Coach Brown is already a proud Bearcat, and we were thrilled to learn that she wanted to expand her contributions to our district even further as the AHS head cheer coach,” Aledo ISD Athletic Director Brandy Belk said. “She brings positive energy and expertise to the role, and I can’t wait to see how she supports our student-athletes and the cheer program.”
Brown has a bachelor’s degree from Texas State University, and she is pursuing her master’s degree in Educational Administration at the University of North Texas. She also has a USA Cheer Training certification and a USA Cheer Safe Sport certification.
